How He Loves Us. His Jealousy. Our Idolatry.

Who can measure what God does? Who can outgive Him? We can't but we sometimes make it seem like we could.

There is jealousy in the love of God. That's why He he made certain of idolatry being abominable for Him. He offered His own Son for a bunch of selfish creatures just much more intelligent than the animals. He gave and took nothing in return. He just gave for God so loved the world. And all that we could ever do is to get. Because we have to satisfy our needs.

HOW WE LOVE HIM NOT

We forget about Him, we forget about what He's done and go on doing what we've known and what we've already mastered. We would try be invulnerable of the Spirit and do our thing. When we settle for knowledge over wisdom. When we focus on welfare rather than salvation. For we, ourselves are no longer recepient of it.
"They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, and hewn themselves cisterns--broken cisterns that can hold no water."
Jeremiah 2:13
What quenches now our thirsty soul? Or can we still uphold every promises that He has made for us? What are church services for? That every devotional is in vain. For, like a broken cistern, we can no longer hold water; the spring of living water.

CHASING AFTER IDOLS

Anything that takes away our gaze off of Him is no less than an idol of our lives. In any form, the enemy could use anything or anyone to lead ourselves astray. But sometimes we volunteer doing the enemy's part. When everything that matters to us are just things.

We have other "Savior". Either in a form of iPod or a special friend.
"But where are your gods that you have made for yourselves? Let them arise, if they can save you in the time of your trouble;"
Jeremiah 2:28
Who can save you? Who can get you out of trouble? And who lets you in?

THE BRIDE PLAYING THE HARLOT

I have this note in my room saying, "You are not a prostitute! You do not sell yourself to other people. (being yoked with the unbelievers) You do not do what this world does. (not conforming to the pattern of this world) You do not sell yourself to Satan! (temptations)" You do not sell yourself for a momentary pleasure.

The Bride of Christ is someone who is in an intimate relationship with Him. Having a fresh relationship, alive and living in worship for the Lord. When all that the Bride have is God-breathed. When the Bride's heart is burning for the One she loves. A love that burns with so much passion. For this love is as strong as death. Jealousy as cruel as the grave; Its flames are flames of fire, a most vehement flame. Many waters cannot quench this love, nor can flood drown it." (Song of Solomon 8:6-7, paraphrase mine)

With this love, would you dare come unprepared?

LIVING LIKE A VAGABOND
"Why do you gad about so much to change your way?"
Jeremiah 2:36
Make up your mind. Make everything up so you won't feel down. What we should always been taking care of is our relationship with God. Live a life with a purpose and make it big. Dream a great dream. Have the ability to move mountains. Make your faith work. Do not aimlessly do something.

"A goal is a dream with a deadline."
-Napoleon Hill

This quote has struck me on my being a leader who's got many things to accomplish for my disciples and my personal life and my responsibility at home. And I knew then that I shouldn't be "vagabonding" in the ministry.

RELENT OR RESENT

We will always have something to surrender. And surrendering is not always a bad idea. We are free and we should act upon it. Being surrendered is being free of something. Lest we will always be indignant of something that we don't have to.

God did not demonstrate His love for the sinner through resentment. But He was so relentless in all the redemption that His Son has to go through for us to be saved. And until we learn to be forgiving the same way as our Father forgives us, we have many things to surrender still.

And until we relentlessly face trials of any kind we can never have the persistency to go on doing the ministry, as well as doing our purpose, loving God and loving people.

There will always be disappointing situations and even people. But never forget that one way or another we've been as disappointing as them but without resentment God has dealt with us with so much love and patience and goodness and kindness and justice.
"Also you shall be ashamed of Egypt(trials) as you were ashamed of Assyria(idolatry). Indeed you will go forth from Him with your hands on your head; For the Lord has rejected your trusted allies, and you will not prosper by them."
Jeremiah 2:36b-27
God wants us to trust in Him than that of our own instinct. Or else we'd be making an idol of ourselves yet again. Those that can't help make you will eventually break you. God wants us to trust in Him and when He rejects those that we would trust we know what does that mean. Being confident of this very thing, that He who begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 1:6)

WHEN WE REPENT, WE RE-COMMIT NOT REPEAT

Repentance without commitment of not doing the same thing again is nothing. It would make no sense for the Lord not even for yourself. Just because you cried out doesn't always mean that you have poured out. Sometimes it's just emotions or something. But what God wants from us is our heart and soul being committed to His will again. It's not always about the tears that was shed, there is no important shedding than that of the blood of Jesus, anyway.
"Will you not from this time cry to Me, 'My Father, You are the guide of my youth? Will He remain angry forever? Will He keep it to the end?' Behold, you have spoken and done evil things, as you were able."
Jeremiah 3:4-5
Repent and acknowledge Jesus as your personal Savior once again. Because for a long time you've been yielding  unto someone who cannot even save himself, an idol.

Oh, how He loves us and how we (sometimes) love him not...
